Design complete lightning protection systems for residential, multi-family and public buildings - with automatic calculations and compliance checking.
ArCADia-Lightning Protection Installations is a BIM module for electrical engineers designing external lightning protection systems.
Insert lightning rods, down conductors and earthing connections as intelligent BIM objects - all displayed in 3D within the building model.
The module automatically checks the correctness of element connections and circuit continuity, performs calculations in accordance with applicable European standards, and generates a complete final report. THE ROOF AND BUILDING INSTALLATION

The program allows to create a lightning protection drawing with the options of the conducting cable, thanks to which the roof (each of its roof slope) is outlined along the ridges, corners, baskets, hoods and other edges. After the circuit is closed, the installation is connected to the control connector with an outlet cable, which itself finds the shortest path to the downlead. Following the roof slope, eave, and then the wall of the building, it reaches the box or the control connector itself. With larger buildings an air terminal can be placed on the roof as well.
THE INSTALLATION IN THE TERRAIN
- The program automatically runs a downlead from the control connector to the surround earth electrode, grate earth electrode or earth rod.
CALCULATION AND CONTROL OF PROJECT VALIDITY
- Before making calculations, entering listings and creating a report, the correctness of element connections should be checked. The program has functionality that allows to automatically check the correctness of the project. If any of the elements are not connected, they will be marked. If the design is correct, you can make calculations of earth electrodes. The program performs them automatically on the basis of the drawing and given in the ground resistance options.
REPORTS AND LISTINGS
- If the installation is done correctly, the report with resistance results can be generated and lists of elements and materials are inserted on the view.
