When entering elements of the ArCADia system (on the example of the ArCADia-ARCHITECTURE module), the insert window is displayed.
This window contains the transition to:
which means everything that is needed when drawing a view.
Below there is an example of the insertion window, which, in addition to the options listed above, also has the ability to rotate layers in the introduced wall.
Lines or entry points, that make it easier to draw an element according to the situation on the view:
Edge / Wall symmetry axis/ Wall axis/ Edge - this option is available when drawing: walls, binding joists and strip footings.
Corner/ Edge/ Center - this option is available when inserting: columns, chimneys, chimney shafts, dormer windows, spot footings, modular axis meshes, 2- and 3D objects and lists.
Edge/ Symmetry axis - this option is available when entering: windows, doors, wall openings and special windows/doors.
Edge / Symmetry axis - this option is available when drawing a solid.
PLEASE NOTE: The basic premise is that we draw to the right. This means that if we enter the wall as intended, then pointing to the top edge in the insertion window, we will be drawing with the top edge of the wall. If we draw to the left, after selecting the top edge in the insertion window, we will be inserting the wall with the bottom edge.
When inserting windows, doors, openings in the wall and special windows/doors, the direction of the wall does not matter, only the edge of the element which is being inserted.
Reorder layers (the option is available only for multilayer walls). Once we start drawing (by indicating the starting point) you can see how the layers are set and whether they will be consistent with our assumption. However, if they are drawn opposite to the expected effect, we need to use the layer swapping icon. The selected input line (wall axis by default) will be the center of rotation for the layers.
Go to Properties dialogue box. Even before inserting any element, you can define it without leaving the drawing option.
Tracking options, detecting previously entered elements.
Tracking axes - detects introduced elements and leads horizontal, vertical dashed lines from them or at an angle to the inserted object. These lines are run from the same elements that we introduce (with most elements tracing also occurs from the entered walls).
Tracking angles - detects introduced elements and leads dashed lines from them at given angles. These lines appear when entering consecutive elements from the beginning/end of the object and from intersections, joints and corners. By default, the program shows 45, 60, 90 degrees angles (settings for these angles are located in the Options window).
Element and section detection - detects the edges and points (end of edges, axes, etc.) of elements, leading extension lines from them. If we want to select a specific point, e.g. on a wall, just stop the cursor on it for a moment and a square will appear under the cursor, which will guide the auxiliary line from the indicated point.
Please Note: The points marked in this way are lost when refreshing the drawing, moving or zooming in/out.
The options for easy drawing.
Reference - enables inserting a selected element in the selected distances from the indicated point.
Between points (centre) - allows you to start drawing in the middle between two indicated points.
Between points (percentage) - allows you to start drawing between two indicated points in the percentage division of the indicated section.
Angle - allows you to set the angle of the inserted element (the option available in the second input step). After entering the angle, the length of the element needs to be entered.
Length - allows to enter the length of the entered object (option available in the second input step).
Parallel - enables parallel drawing by indicating two points on the reference element (option available in the second input step).
Continue - draws the next part of the element at the last angle (option available in the second input step).
Close - closes the outline (the icon appears after drawing the third fragment, e.g. drawn walls).
Element type saved in the project or program and available from the library.
pens, i.e. the type and thickness of the drawn line of the element
fonts, type and size of the description, e.g. when entering windows, doors, etc.
surfaces on which any material, texture from a library or file in BMP, JPG or PNG format can be applied.
Some insertion windows have additional options available only, e.g. for entered dimensions or spot height.
For columns, chimneys, 2- and 3D objects in the insertion window, a special rotation icon has been added .
Thanks to it, the entry of an element does not have to end with entering its property, when inserting an object, its angle can be indicated.
